Italy
Every region, its own table.
Italy is not one cuisine but twenty, each region proud of its own pasta, its own wines and its own way of doing things.

In Emilia-Romagna, Parmigiano Reggiano, prosciutto di Parma and traditional balsamic vinegar are made the way they have been for centuries. Piedmont has Barolo and white truffles; Naples has pizza; Sicily has its markets, citrus and sweets; and Venice snacks on cicchetti with a glass of wine.
The Italian table is about seasonality and simplicity: a few excellent ingredients, treated with respect. Many of the best meals happen in small family-run trattorias.
Whether it is a long lunch in the countryside or an aperitivo at sunset, Italy makes eating an art form.
Eat where the menu is short and handwritten. If they're out of something by nine, you're in the right place.
Say it like a local.
A few words of Italian go a long way at the table in Italy.
- Ciao Say it: chow hi
- Grazie Say it: GRAHT-see-eh thank you
- Cin cin! Say it: chin chin cheers
- Buon appetito Say it: bwon ah-peh-TEE-toh enjoy your meal
